This week I'm posting a day early as I'm taking off on Friday with the wife.
This week we have had some of the firms that are bidding asking about options which has taken time to review and answer. I also produced 25 more CD's as Pearce Construction has continuted to give out more to firms that want to bid. We are now up to about 200 bidders based on comments from Pearce's office.
Mantel Teter has also issued the first addendum to the bidding documents with 18 items most are document changes to clarify some of the details. Item #1 was for the curved ceiling panels at the doors between the new and old foyer which will require more changes in HVAC and lighting in the same area. Item #11 was for the footing to support the new welcome center over head section as it was not in the center of the foyer. Item #16 and #17 was to allow option for products to the included in the bids. Then #18 was totally for changes in door locks that I had requested.
KCP&L produced a change in the pad location as it was not 10 feet from the curb to allow a boom truck to set the transformer.
The bids are still due on the 25th and the second addendum is due out on Friday. I have not heard anything about comments from the city. The civil engineer heard from the water department in a small addition that will be needed for a water meter pit.
Today I also allow for Yale locks and Norton door closers to be options to force better pricing on the hardware and let Jamie of Perace Construction know that I was not interested in Alerton as an option for DDC controls.
