This week has been another of getting ready. Early this week, I meet with people from Terracon to work on a Phase one Environmental study that is required by the bank, in the process of securing the loan from the bank. This study is for the land history and use to make sure that the bank is not loaning money on a waste dump. We went through each of the buildings looking at everything including all the floor drains and possible areas that we could contaminate the land.
This was the week, on Wednesday, that the bidders were to turn in their bids to Pearce construction. Next week we are to have a group meeting to review and discuss the bids. The early comments are that the bids are very good.
This week I contacted Mid-States School Equipment about the seating that they provided to Abundant Life, Susan Dunham. This is the type of seating that we are looking to put into the Looking Glass Theater.
On Monday I was able to start review of Addendum Two that Mantel Teter released to Pearce and the bidders. It was fairly large in size as it has 43 items. Some are as a result of clarifying details for the bidders. Some of the items are structural for the two new doors on the North and South sides of the existing building. The support for the overhead on the Welcome center was in the wrong location. A large number of the changes are on the MEP drawings for electrical, plumbing and HVAC item details. Nothing major in nature most is to get a few things corrected, and adding a kiln in the art room. We allowed a couple of options for materials that could be bid: (Floor coating, Yale locks, and Norton door closers). The sidewalk to the office doors was changed to allow a direct pathway as well as the ADA route.
